Pacific Grove Lighthouse 5K

Registration for the November 16, 2013, Pacific Grove Lighthouse 5K is now open HERE
ENTRY FEE:

$30.00 Adults 18 and older
$20.00 Youth 17 and younger
Active Military are eligible for a $5.00 discount that may be selected during the registration process. Not applicable for military spouses or dependents.

Pre-registration for the 5K will end Wednesday, November 13, 2013.  It will resume at the Expo on Friday, November 15th, from noon to 6:00 PM and also on race morning at Jewell Park beginning at 6:30 AM.

Entry fee is NON-REFUNDABLE AND NON-TRANSFERABLE!
START TIME: 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2013
PARTICIPANT REQUIREMENTS: You must be five years of age or older and in good health. Race is limited to 1,000 participants, both walkers and runners are welcome. Race numbers are required to take part in the event. Dogs and children in strollers may participate but must start in the back.

PACKET PICKUP: Bibs and event shirts must be picked up at the Health & Fitness Expo on Friday, November 15th. A Photo ID is required for packet pickup. The Expo is held at the Monterey Conference Center at One Portola Plaza in Monterey, adjacent to the Portola Hotel & Spa.
Hours are noon to 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

If you are unable to pick-up Friday, there will be race morning pick-up at Jewell Park in Pacific Grove beginning at 6:30 AM.
REGISTRATION: Online registration is provided by Active.com. You may register online by clicking HERE.  There are no paper registration forms available. If you want to pay by check, email sally@bsim.org on how to proceed. There will be an additional administrative fee of $5 for this type of registration.
CONFIRMATION: If you register online and provide a valid email address, you will be emailed confirmation at the time of registration. Confirmations are generated automatically by Active.com, but firewalls or spam filters on your computer may prevent it from reaching you.  Entries may also be confirmed at the Half Marathon registration link under "Entry Confirmation". Type in LAST NAME ONLY to verify your information. A photo ID is required to pick up your bib, chip and race packet.
RACE DAY PARKING: On race day, there will be parking available in the Pacific Grove public parking lots and on neighborhood streets.  Click HERE to see the location of the city lots.
COURSE:

Please note that the 5K is NOT a certified course.  In order to comply with the wishes of the city of Pacific Grove, we did our best to design a course that met the city's requirements, is scenic, and is not overly difficult.  The actual 5K is probably closer to 3 miles than 3.1.  The 5K is a timed event, but should be considered a fun run or walk rather than a serious competitive event.

The 5K begins in downtown Pacific Grove on Lighthouse Avenue at Forest.  It heads west and makes a turn at the Pacific Grove Post Office and then continues to Lover's Point.  From there runners hug the coastline out to Asilomar Blvd. where they make a u-turn in the dirt parking lot on the ocean side and then return to the finish at Lover's Point.  From there it is a short walk back to Jewell Park (via Forest or Grand Avenues) where post-race festivities and awards will take place. AWARDS: Awards will go three deep in 10-year age divisions after 5-8, 9-11, 12-14, and 15-19.  The awards ceremony will take place on the stairs of the Pacific Grove Museum of Natural History (across from Jewell Park) beginning at 10:00 AM.
