The FREE Expo Clinics are held in the Steinbeck Forum (3rd floor of the Monterey Conference Center) on Saturday, November 17th from 10:00 AM to 4:15 PM.

JEFF MORENO, DPT, OCS...Running Form:  Perception vs. Reality

The focus will be on the importance of optimal posture/form and how it relates to running performance and injury prevention.

Dr. Moreno received his BS degree in Kinesiology from Cal Poly, SLO in 1999 and his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from USC in 2003.  He has completed many advanced training courses in orthopedic physical therapy and became a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist in 2005. 

Following graduation, Jeff has worked primarily in orthopedic settings, rehabilitating and training individuals from all walks of life to achieve peak performance, with a focus on the running athlete.  His running clientele has included Olympians, US Champions and Olympic Trials qualifiers.

The Clif Bar Pace Teams will be on hand to help you achieve your half marathon goal! Supporting runners from the novice to the veteran, joining a pace team is FREE! Learn more about the pace team leaders and how they'll help your achieve the finish you want.

Darris has done more than 150 marathons, about half of them as a 10-year member of the Clif Bar Pace Team.  Born and raised in Akron, OH, he also is the Race Director of the Nationwide Better Health Columbus Marathon & Half Marathon.

When not pacing for Clif Bar, Darris competes in ultra marathons along with his wife and fellow pacer Star.

A discussion panel on Ultra Marathons.  Panelists include:

Ben Balester:  Local businessman, BSIM Board member and the Relay Director.  He has run a combined 40 marathons and ultra marathons

Donald Buraglio:  Ass't Director or Rehabilitation at CHOMP and co-author of The Running Life. He has participated in ultras for over 10 years and has completed four 100-milers

Brian Robinson:  BSIM Board member and Aid Station director for the Half Marathon. He has raced more than 20 ultras, including six 100-milers and is also an avid distance hiker

Sophia Robinson:  Sophia is the Big Sur Half Marathon Finish Chute Director.  After a 20-year hiatus from competition, she discovered ultra marathons. She has "podiumed" in every race she's entered from 50K to 100 miles

Chris Calzetta:  Chris's relationship with running has been constant but ever-changing for the past 15 years. His focus the past 2 years has been exploring the experience of extreme endurance running

John Rembao is the founder of MileUSA.  MileUSA specializes in personal coaching services for middle and long distance runners, clinics, camps, as well as arranging and conducting endurance events.  He has coached and managed for over 29 years at the collegiate level and has been on staff at Stanford University, Cal, University of Texas (Austin), Southern Methodist University, the University of Arizona, and Cal Poly-SLO.  He served as a USA Track and Field Development Chair for 10 years.

John has coached three Olympians, five World Championship competitors, 15 NCAA individual champions and with runners-up, a collegiate record holder and 93 All-Americans.
