National Marathons Support Big Sur Distance Project
(Carmel, CA – July 7, 2005) -- The Marine Corps
and Twin Cities Marathons are providing entries to their "Sold Out" races in support of the Big Sur Marathon's
elite training center.
A limited number of entries for both races are available for $300. Funds above the amount of the entry fee will
go directly to support the non-profit Big Sur Distance Project, one of the five USATF professional training centers
in the United States. The Distance Project is dedicated to developing, supporting and preparing U.S. post-collegiate
distance runners for National and International level competitions. The athletes also serve the community by actively
promoting physical fitness and healthy lifestyles for people of all ages, with an emphasis on youth fitness. For
more information on the Big Sur Distance Project visit www.bsim.org.
In addition to guaranteed entries into either the Marine Corps Marathon (October 30, 2005) or the Twin Cities Marathon
(October 2, 2005), participants will also receive an "Official Supporter of the Big Sur Distance Project"
shirt and micromesh cap.
