Pacific Grove, America's "Last Hometown" and America's "Most Romantic City" is host to the longest portion of the Big Sur Half Marathon course along with the Run Forrest Run 5K. 84% of our prior participants deemed the Pacific Grove coastline as their favorite part of the run. We invite you to make "PG" your race weekend home. If you are a runner with non-participating family, the inns below offer the perfect viewing spot for Saturday's and Sunday's exciting races.

Built in 1886, this historic inn offers a variety of accomodations, all with outstanding ocean views. A full breakfast is followed by afternoon wine and cheese, and homemade cookes with milk are served each evening. Wireless internet is available and as a plus to runners, the inn maintains a strict non-smoking policy.
Located at Lover's Point, the Seven Gables is at the mile 4 mark of the course and offers excellent opportunities for spectator viewing.

The Monterey Marriott and the Portola Hotel & Spa are the Headquarter Hotels for the 2008 Big Sur Half Marathon on Monterey Bay. Located in downtown Monterey at Fisherman's Wharf, both hotels overlook Monterey Bay and are located at the start/finish area of the Half Marathon. Both hotels are also adjacent to the Monterey Conference Center, site for registration, packet pick-up and the Half Marathon Expo. |
